Precision crossed roller slewing ring
Precision crossed roller slewing ring features cylindrical rollers arranged at 90° crosswise. A single unit bears axial load, radial load and overturning moment simultaneously. Compact & thin structure, preloadable for zero clearance, delivering high rotational accuracy and superior rigidity. Separable inner and outer rings enable easy installation and space saving. Widely used for low-to-medium speed precision rotary applications including robot joints, precision rotary tables, optical gimbals and inspection indexing equipment. It requires flat & rigid mounting base and is not suitable for heavy shock loads.
Features & performance advantages
High rotational accuracy: precision hardened and finely ground raceways with minimal radial and axial runout. Available in P4 / P5 precision grades. It supports slight clearance or preloaded zero-clearance configuration for positioning & indexing applications with low wobble.
Easy installation: mounting through holes on both inner and outer rings for direct bolt fastening. Separable inner and outer rings simplify assembly. It saves machine space and reduces overall weight.
High rigidity: crossed roller layout enables multi-direction load bearing, strong anti-overturning performance and low deflection under load. Preloading further increases overall rigidity and improves resistance to eccentric load compared with conventional slewing bearings.

FAQ
1. What's the difference between crossed roller slewing ring and ordinary slewing rings?
The precision crossed roller slewing ring adopts a 90° crossed cylindrical roller structure with line contact. It can bear axial, radial and overturning loads simultaneously, delivering high rigidity and positioning accuracy, and can be preloaded to eliminate backlash. Ordinary slewing bearings mostly use ball point contact design, mainly for heavy load conditions. They have relatively large rotational clearance, lower rigidity and positioning accuracy, and are generally not suitable for micro-angle precision indexing.
2. What potential issues may arise during routine operation, and what preventive measures should be taken?
There are some common failures: raceway pitting, wear, seal failure and indentation caused by outside particles. Periodic grease replenishment is required to block dust and fluid. Deformation of mounting base will directly affect bearing accuracy. Overload shock will cause permanent roller indentation and irreversible precision loss.
