Four point contact ball slewing bearing
Four point contact ball slewing bearing is specially designed for full trailers. Installed between the steerable wheel assembly and the chassis, it serves as the core rotary load-bearing component, enabling horizontal steering of the wheel group while simultaneously carrying axial loads, radial loads, and tilting moments. Besides, the product range covers light to heavy-duty applications, with external-tooth, internal-tooth, and toothless configurations available, compatible with hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders, or passive steering mechanisms.
Features & performance advantages
High load-carrying composite design: the raceways undergo medium-frequency induction hardening to HRC 55–62, enabling simultaneous resistance to axial, radial, and tilting loads under complex road conditions.
Double-lip seal for dust & water protection: equipped with NBR double-lip seals that effectively block mud, dust, and salt ingress, suitable for outdoor construction sites, ports, and coastal high-humidity, high-salt environments.
Reliable material: slewing rings are made of 50Mn or 42CrMo high-quality alloy structural steel; rolling elements adopt GCr15 bearing steel, ensuring long-term strength and wear resistance.
Customization available: non-standard dimensions, mounting hole patterns, gear parameters, surface treatments (black oxide / zinc plating / painting), and lubrication methods can be customized to match various trailer manufacturers installation interfaces.

FAQ
1. Which slewing bearing structure should be chosen for a steerable flatbed trailer??
The choice primarily depends on the load capacity of the steerable axle and available installation space. Light-duty trailers (under 10 tons) typically use single-row four-point contact ball slewing bearings for their compact structure and low cost. Medium-duty trailers (10–30 tons) are recommended to use crossed roller slewing bearings for high rigidity and strong load capacity. Heavy-duty lowbed trailers (over 30 tons) should use double-row different-diameter ball or three-row roller slewing bearings to withstand greater tilting moments and axial loads. If steering is driven by a hydraulic motor, a toothed type (external or internal) is required; for hydraulic cylinder push-pull or passive steering, a toothless type can be selected.
2. What is the service life of a slewing bearing? How should it be maintained??
Under normal load and proper maintenance, the design service life of a slewing bearing is typically 10,000–20,000 working hours or 5–8 years, depending on load magnitude, operating frequency, and environmental conditions. Key routine maintenance points include: regular lubrication, bolt inspection, seal inspection and gear surface cleaning( if there is gear).
